Quantum networks are the basis for the development of a quantum internet – an infrastructure that enables secure quantum communication, distributed quantum computing, and quantum-enhanced sensing. Building large-scale quantum devices and harnessing their quantum nature however requires developing efficient strategies to probe and model complex quantum systems. This workshop brings together researchers to explore fundamental aspects of quantum network design and complex many-body quantum systems.
Discussions will emphasize interdisciplinary approaches, fostering a deeper understanding of the principles underlying quantum connectivity and quantum complexity. By addressing key open questions, this workshop aims at basic research and next-generation quantum internet networks.
Organized by: Politecnico di Bari, CNR-ISC, La Sapienza
The workshop targets researchers and scholars interested in the field of Quantum Optics, with a particular focus on Waveguide Quantum Electrodynamics (QED), and experts working in the field of Tensor Network methods.
The growing number of geometries and procedures within quantum optical systems and waveguide QED call for the development of new theoretical models and efficient simulation algorithms. Tensor Networks feature the ideal tool to achieve this goal by their capabilities in building efficient and accurate models and simulations of complex quantum systems.
The workshop will gather international experts in theoretical and experimental Quantum Optics and Waveguide QED, and Tensor Network methods, promoting collaborations and cross-fertilization with potential enrichment for both communities.
